iPhoneography Monday: Nature

“Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.”
― Robert Frost

Today’s iPhoneography Monday is centered towards the theme “Nature”.
One of the many iOS updates that I enjoy is the Panorama effect on the native iPhone camera, which was introduced a while back. It is a nifty little trick which Apple have developed allowing users to capture panoramic shots by simply tapping on the screen and panning the iPhone from left to right (or up and down, whichever floats your boat), the way you normally would when capturing a video. It is an awesome tool, one which I find myself using a lot when shooting landscapes with my iPhone. The trick is to have a steady hand, which really isn’t that hard considering the screen offers a guide to ensure a smooth panning.

  4. Love the poem combined with your striking colors of autumn. So glad that you mentioned the panorama feature. I discovered it months ago quite by happenstance. It’s so much fun, and adds yet another tool for us to use.

  5. I enjoy this feature very much , but found that it is not good if people are in the pictures. If they move, the picture that comes out will have their distorted features.

    • You are absolutely right, friendlytm, I discovered that by accident too when I first used the panorama effect, so I usually use it only for nature and landscape shots where there is very little movement involved :)
