Saturday’s photo walk was absolutely productive. It snowed all day, so the port wasn’t too crowded when I got there, except for a group of teenagers making their way to the skating rink. I watched as they slipped and slid on the snow-covered pavement. They were wearing sneakers, definitely the worse (slippers being the worst) footwear for snow. I wondered what they were thinking, or if they were maybe from out-of-town. It was snowing heavily and visibility was very low, it provided a soft and dreamy landscape.
A father and son walked past me as I stopped to take a photo of the Bateaux Louis-Jolliet which was docked at the marina.
Both photos were edited in Lightroom 4. I used the preset TB63 Tone Curve XP1 Faded which was included with the Essential Development Preset Package e-book I purchased from Craft & Vision when it originally came out.

Beautiful style on these Gracie. I’ll have to look into those presets.
Thanks, Mike! I really like the 85 presets that came with the e-book. I find I am using them a lot more these days, sometimes I tweak them a little, but often times, they are great on their own. The link is on the post
Fabulous images!
Thank you
Wonderful!
Thank you
Great images. Love the father & son photo.
Thanks Cardinal
Great shots. I really like the first one best; the little splash of color on the boat warms up the cold.
Thank you, Karen!
These are stunning, Gracie. I almost wish I could step right into the scenes.
Thanks Robin! Maybe time to visit Montreal
Oooh! That would be fun.
The first photo is stunning, love it!!
Thanks David!
Thanks for stopping by and liking one of my posts! Your photos are so textured and evocative–love the boats (tanker and ferry?). The use of pallid color is great. I love ambling and photographing as well but your pictures rise above.
Thank you, Cynthia.
I know the Louis-Jolliet is more of a dinner cruise boat, not too sure about the one behind. It may be a cargo boat or something.
Thank you so much for sharing your blog,it very interesting to discover.
I am glad you are enjoying it, Rima
Nicely done–the photographs lure you with their ambience and atmosphere.
Thanks Sally
Those turned out great Gracie! Wonderful scenes for a snowy day!
Thank you, Phil! I’m glad you liked how these were processed
Gracie, I feel fortunate to enjoy your chilly, beautiful walks around town…from the indoors! Lovely photographs.

Thank you, Elisa. Glad you enjoyed them
Lovely, very atmospheric. I have quite a few Craft and Vision titles: excellent and affordable!
Thanks Beth! Me too, I’ve learned so much from those e-books.
Very well captured, cozy atmosphere in the snow…
Thank you, Drake!
I like this preset. It’s perfect for these photos.
Thank you. I enjoyed using the preset too. And I agree, it is perfect for some snowy photos.
