Weekly Photo Challenge: Sun
WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge: Sun

This photo was taken 2 weekends ago when we went down to Ottawa for the day. A couple of friends of mine came down to Montreal for a visit, and I wasn’t going to let them leave without first taking them to the nation’s capital. We were walking back from the National Gallery where we went to see the famous “Maman” sculpture. If you remember, I once posted a photo I took of the sculpture here. The sun was casting a rich golden glow to the landscape as it was setting, and I caught a glimpse of the rays just before it disappeared. I thought that this image will be appropriate for the current weekly challenge. Let me know what you think.

Beautiful. I’ve never been to Ottawa…been to Toronto (2x), Montreal (4x), and Quebec City (too many to count)…can you tell I like Canada?
Thank you
I’m sure you’d like Ottawa too. It’s a really nice place (but not nicer than Montreal…hahaha…I’m from Montreal)
This is a beautiful photo. Which camera do you use?
Thank you
I have the Canon 60D with an 18-200mm lens.
I also often use my nifty-fifty
I’ve been thinking about upgrading my equipment, so I haev some questions:
1. How is the autofocus on the 60D? I’ve heard that it can be noisy. Is that true?
2. Does it have control wheels on each side of the camera?
3. Is the power button on the same side as the shooter (the right side)?
To answer your questions:
1) In terms of auto-focus, I believe the noise will depend on which lens you use, the 18-200mm is not USM so it can be a bit noisy, but I rarely use autofocus so it really doesn’t bother me as much.
2. Controls on the top are on both side of the camera, there is an LCD on top as well. The control wheel is on the left, same as the on/off button and the delete button.
3. Power button is on the left, the shutter button is on the right.
Hope this helps.
Lovely pic, Gracie.
Thank you, Adin
